Something Good Is Going To Happen

I have just started reading a Biography of Kate Bush. Her early years remind me of Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outlier. She was born in the right place, right parents and met the right people – in the same way Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were to the world of computers. Her brother was friends with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmore. He saw her early songs when she was 15 and got her signed to EMI. With an advance from EMI she cultivated her style and at the age of 18 she had her first number 1 single.

The Love Quadrant (Space Dimension Controller Edit)

An incredible touch up of a perfect track. Jack Hamill aka Space Dimension Controller put this together whilst bored in his hotel room in Sydney. Not sure who is looking after him there, but he’s sure to have a wonderful time in Adelaide when hosted by Sidewalk at Cuckoo.

polkadot

Polkadot – Before You Know It

Free sounds from the young, inspired, Polkadot. This young British producer hailing from Wolverhampton is just another piece in the puzzle of the exciting UK scene right now.

This an excellent uplifting slice of garage with some really nice, although somewhat immature synth melodies. This guy will be on top form once he’s found his stride, mark my words.

Alan Braxe – Vertigo (Yousef Circus Rework) [WAV Download]

Now I know how much everybody loves a free download, so I thought this was totally worth your time. Although it probably doesn’t match up to the original geniality of Alan Braxe, this will certainly slot in to all your DJ sets without the need to run your clubs shitty mixer into the red.

ossie

Ossie – Peace & Love [MP3]

BOILERROOM proving why, yet again, they are a force to be reckoned with. The seminal dance music stream has become popular worldwide in it’s short existence and with the amount of unknown material they are gifting the world. I’m in

sorrow

Sorrow – Lovely Day [MP3]

An avid beatmaker from the UK who in most cases gives his music away for free. Which isn’t a problem in the small world of today. Thanks to the internet, an artist/group can have moderate success without ever signing to a record label. Which leads me to showcase the excellence of Sorrow, and his dark garage track, Lovely Day.

Mark E – Oranges (Jacques Renault Edit) [WAV Download]

For me, Oranges was no doubt a standout from the debut Mark E record, Stonebreaker. However like a lot of the album, I found I appreciated the music more as a listener than a selector and haven’t played a single

Sasse – The Solaris Conspiracy (FIO Remix)

It’s our boy Griffin James, aka Francis Inferno Orchestra. Finally dropping some sounds to suit his DJ set. Stepping away from the sample tip and dropping a dancefloor belter for Sasse. Releasing on The Exquisite Pain Recordings very soon according to his Soundcloud.

Till von Sein – Sassomon [Free Download]

Off the release of his debut album titled #LTD, Till Von Sein is still dropping heat like no tomorrow. The album has received worldwide acclaim so far and quoted as one of the albums of the year by WhatPeoplePlay. No

Tiger & Woods – Wiki & Leaks

Floating around the internets like a wildfire, I’d like to present you with the new, and still unconfirmed Tiger & Woods album. Titled Wiki & Leaks it makes the travelling sensation very believable and I’m about to unzip the file

breaking_bones_still_02

Breaking Bones (Cosmic Kids Remix)

Always down to listen to some new Cosmic Kids, this new remix for VHS Or Beta is some pretty heavy hitting house more on the nu wave tip than some of the deeper tones they’ve shown so far. The killer

Killing Spree (Oscar Fonseca Edit)

Portuguese label Apersonal are always pushing fantastic music and they’ve just started a new series called Apersonal Free. Quite obviously it’s a free download series of music from their wonderful camp of music. The latest is the Oscar Fonseca edit

Lotta Love

I fell in love with Nicolette Larson’s Lotta Love when I heard it again on Jacques Renault’s Oki-Ni Valentine’s mix. This is a dope edit that keeps everything essential about the song and gives it this drugged out cosmic feel. As

Robot Dub

I first heard about Disco Deviance on a Wednesday night at Sugar – I think one of the Carter Bros was playing one of their edits to an empty room. I asked what the record was, which I later tracked

Gangsta

So Gangsta

Image by Katherine Botten I have been a huge fan of Playgroup forever and this was probably the first track that made me get into Chromeo, which is odd given that it only has female vocals. Trevor Jackson is a

Ooty on Wax

This month, Jack Off Germany are releasing the new Walker Barnard EP titled Alacazam. This record will feature two originals & one remix. I am here today to talk about this remix. A name that no longer needs introduction in

The Best Ever Made Ever

Really digging Axel Boman of late, this is the second record of his I’ve bought in the last month and it’s probably going to sit in my record bag for as long as the previous. He’s got a really organic

Benoit & Sergio – Around The World

Let’s face it, Discovery and Homework are going to be covered, re-intepretated, reworked, edited etc. etc. until the end of time. Sure enough Daft Punk probably did create the best dance music albums of all time, but for the most

Shoe-B-Doo (Kerri’s Jazzy Mix)

I’m on a bit of a vinyl ripping mission this evening, for no other reason than I pity those that can’t afford or don’t have these records. Some people refuse to share their gems but I think the state our
