Detroit Swindle – The Wrap Around EP

The sophomore record is usually the deciding factor for a new record label, and with Ethyl & Huxley kicking things off for Saints & Sonnets last year. It was no mean feat to trump the London labels debut. Enter Detroit Swindle, although being strongly influenced by the worlds most famous motor city, the pair actually hail from a city famous for another kind of smoke. Amsterdam.

Saints & Sonnets was destined for success from the start. Their awesome debut 3 Feet High was a highlight for a lot of DJ's last year receiving heavy support from all the right places. Thus laying the foundation for them to explore young and unnoticed talent of the world.

The Wrap Around EP does sample Marvin Gaye, and yes it does claim to be deep house too. But is it a rare occurrence to stumble across producers doing such things with the finesse of hardened veterans.

Released on Vinyl February 2012.
