Fever Dream EP

When The Rapture started a dance music label, it could have easily been full of underground tunes that only the heavyweight record collectors picked up and played out. However they've pushed out a really solid catalog so far and there are no signs of that slowing down or indeed changing course. The latest release comes courtesy of the strangely named Saarid, who I first came aware of recently thanks to the debut Nurvous compilation (Correct spelling, actually a sister label of Nervous NYC).

His debut track was slightly on the commercial tip with some strong feature vocals, which he has completely dropped for this release. Combining old school drum machines and synthesizers, Saarid has struck gold with a modern sounding throwback record that wouldn't sound out of place in any of the past three decades.

Throne of Blood regulars Cosmic Kids deliver an excellent remix for this record, featuring an astounding saxophone played by Midnight Magic's Santos.
