In The Deep End With Electronic Soul
"In the 70s, before Pioneer, Allen & Heath, or built in effects, there were rotary mixers, the Bozak and the Urei. DJ’ing was founded on these, with no EQ’s, discrete circuitry and quality components. During this musical era, sound quality was of the essence. Mixers produced smooth detailed sounds, which focused on the warmth and clarity of the music.
With ELECTRONIC SOUL’S rotary mixing booth and a guarantee for quality sound, we are excited to announce that SUGAR have begun a new era in Adelaide clubbing. By installing an original BOZAK mixer (the benchmark of purest analogue sound) and with the addition of our experienced resident dj’s, we aim to provide an eclectic range of music, from Nu Disco, Deep House to Synthy Tech grooves."
With a spill as impressive as that, it's nice to say we are lucky to have a crew like Electronic Soul in Adelaide. They have been dedicated to real sound quality and great party vibes without the bullshit for over a year now and they are hosting their sixth show (second show at Sugar) next Saturday night. If it's anything like the first time, it's set to be a great time.
The boys have been kind enough to give us TWO exclusive mixes to share with you, the first of which is a journey through the earlier hours of the night courtesy of Anj featuring some great edits and pitched down house.

The second mix comes from Trebek who usually keeps the opposite end of the spectrum hot with some deep house and delving almost into techno, bare in mind that both mixes are recorded through their trademark rotary mixers on vinyl. Lots of respect for these guys keeping it real.

So if you have nothing to do next Saturday night and you're down to dance to some house music from a passionate crew, head down to Sugar from nine and check it out. I'll most definitely be there with bells on.
